1927 – Nationalist Government Lottery Loan

Capital: $5,000,000 Canton Currency

The purpose of the loan was to subsidise the Canton Hong Kong Strikers Committee and unemployed workers in general.

Interest to be repaid in 30 monthly installments as follows:
1-10 Months @ 2%
11-20 Months @ 3%
21-30 Months @ 5%

There was a public draw for the repayment of principal and prizes on the 5th day of each month at the Central Chamber of Commerce, Canton. The following prizes were to be issued:
1 x 1st Prize @ $20,000 = $20,000
2 x 2nd Prize @ $2,000 = $4,000
4 x 3rd Prize @ $500 = $2,000
10 x 4th Prize @ $100 = $1,000
20 x 5th Prize @ $50 = $1,000
50 x 6th Prize @ $30 = $1,500
100 x 7th Prize @ $15 = $1,500
150 x 8th Prize @ $10 = $1,500
300 x 9th Prize @ $5 = $1,500

Bonds were negotiable, transferable and could be bought, sold or mortgaged.
